Self-Portrait
(2001)
Río Negro's first major production, Self-Portrait, takes the listener on a musical journey through the
genres of music that are most dear to the group. Some of these genres include Guanguanco, Bolero, Son, Bossa Nova
and others. Río Negro's intensity of interaction and ability to anticipate one another come only from
familiarity. Evidence of their cohesiveness is everywhere in this collection.

You've Got to Have Standards
(2000)
Río Negro's first CD You've Got To Have Standards is proof that the band indeed has standards. The CD
contains seven tracks most of which are jazz standards with a fresh new arrangement. Also featured is one original
tune called "Equanimity". The song, written by pianist Kevin "Quino" Johnson, is a favorite track among several
jazz radio stations for its heavenly melody and harmony. Despite being over eight years old, the music is timeless.
